The OpenRad Integration
Learn how to connect OpenRad (Biotronics3D) to your Semble account to send imaging requests and receive scan results directly in your patient records.
The OpenRad integration (or Biotronics3D) allows your practice to send imaging requests directly from Semble and receive the resulting scan reports as PDFs in your patient's Labs tab. This removes the need to manually upload results, streamlining your radiology workflow within the platform.

Receiving Scan Results in Semble
Before You Begin
Before setting up the OpenRad integration, make sure you have:
-
An active OpenRad (Biotronics3D) account with your practice
Contact your account manager at Biotronics to install and configure the Semble integration on your scanning machines.
- Your Semble Practice ID to hand (found in Settings > Practice details)
- Administrator access in Semble
Request Your GUID from OpenRad
A GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) is a unique code issued by OpenRad that links your practice account to Semble.
- Contact OpenRad directly to request your GUID.
- Once OpenRad has provided your GUID, make a note of it — you will need it in the next step.
NOTE: OpenRad may take some time to issue your GUID. We recommend contacting them in advance of when you plan to go live with the integration.
Enable the Integration with Semble
Once you have received your GUID from OpenRad:
- Email support@semble.io with the following information:
- Your Semble Practice ID
- Your GUID issued by OpenRad
- The Semble team will enable the integration on your behalf.
- You will receive confirmation once the integration is active.
The integration is a one-way sync from OpenRad into Semble. This means that imaging requests are made directly within OpenRad — not through Semble. Once OpenRad processes a scan, the resulting report is automatically sent to Semble as a PDF and appears in the Labs area of your patient records.
Once your integration is active, imaging requests are made and managed directly within OpenRad. You do not need to place orders through Semble.
When OpenRad has processed a scan, the report is automatically sent to your Semble account as a PDF and appears in the Labs area of the platform.
CAUTION: Scan results from OpenRad will initially appear as unmatched labs. This means the result has not yet been linked to a specific patient record in Semble. You will need to manually match each result to the correct patient. To match an unmatched result to a patient, see: https://help.semble.io/overview-of-unmatched-labs
Once matched, the PDF scan report will be visible in the patient's Labs tab and will no longer appear in the unmatched queue.
