How to automatically insert a clinician's signature into a letter

You can create a letter template that automatically inserts a clinician's signature into a letter.

Note: To create letter templates and letters, you must have a role assigned to you that gives you editing permissions for Letters, and Letter templates. For more information on roles, see here.

Requirements

Before you attempt to add a clinician's signature to a letter, you must first make sure that you have uploaded the signature to Semble. For information on how to do this, see here.


Add a Clinician's Signature to a Letter Template

You can add a clinician's signature to a letter template at any time, from the Settings page.

Note: Before you attempt to add a clinician's signature to a letter template, you must first make sure that you have uploaded their signature to Semble.

1. Create a letter template as you normally would. For more information on how to do this, see here.

2. Go to the Letter body, and click your cursor where you want the signature to be inserted.

3. Open the Practitioner dropdown menu, then select the Signature auto-field.

4. Finish the letter template as you normally would.

When you use this letter template for a letter, the signature of the selected clinician will now be automatically added to the letter.


Insert a Template with a Clinician Signature into a New Letter

When you create a new patient letter, you can insert a template that automatically inserts a clinician's signature.

Note: You must have uploaded a clinician's signature to Semble, and created a letter template that automatically inserts clinician signatures.

1. Create a patient letter as you normally would. For information on how to create a new letter, see here.

2. Select the Practitioner who you want a signature to be inserted for.

3. Go to the text editor, and open the Insert template dropdown.

4. Select the template that has the clinician signature auto-field inserted in it. The clinician's signature will appear in the text editor.

5. Finish writing the letter as you normally would.

When you view the letter, the clinician's signature will appear where you set it to:
